What constant pressure system do you have? The Pentek Intellidrive and Franklin SubDrive systems can increase/decrease the pressure by adjustments at the pressure sensor. If you reduce the voltage to the motor, you will achieve nothing except end up with no water at all.
You can change the speed of a motor by varying the cycles from 60 to something else. Reducing the voltage would lead to a burned up motor. The systems Matt mentioned use the variable cycle method. A transducer measures the pressure which tells the drive what to do to keep it there. A constant pressure valve will totally confuse a variable drive. But for a regular pump they work great.
